The Skeletal Season

With Halloween came winds and snow that left the last scarlet maples as skeletal as the bony decorations on rusty trucks and porches.  Juncos, unable to easily forage in the snow, began fighting over bird seed on my deck.  But the snow soon melted, and the week ended with very light snow and sleet that created their own form of magic.
